About
Nobody should need a vendor's servers to sleep well.
Bed-cooling systems work well, but the ones on the market depend on the vendor's cloud and a subscription. A community has already built local control for some older commercial hardware. Open Bed Climate takes a different route: our own open hardware, designed clean-room from public information, so nobody depends on a vendor's servers to sleep well.
Clean-room policy
We don't use vendor firmware, decompiled code, leaked documents or rooting instructions, and we don't accept them as contributions. Capabilities are collected from public sources only: product pages, launch coverage and open-source client projects. No vendor logos, product photos, UI screenshots or trade dress appear on this site; the drawings are our own.
Prior art
Commercial systems in this space are cloud-bound and subscription-based. Community projects have documented local control for older units. We list them, with links, in docs/research/prior-art.md. Open Bed Climate is not affiliated with or endorsed by Eight Sleep or any other bed-cooling manufacturer. All product names belong to their owners.

Press
In one paragraph: Open Bed Climate is an open-source, local-first bed climate system that cools and warms each side of the bed with water, built from standard parts you can buy, repair and change. It is in the design phase: the thermal model, safety logic, firmware core and Home Assistant hub component exist and are tested in software, and the project is looking for the people who will build and measure the first one.
